1978 Jersey

I purchased this top as its name is my birth year - 1978! An odd reason, granted but I was keen to try a new clothing manufacturer and was drawn in by the 'Merino' sports wool element. It does not disappoint - super soft and a great fit all round. I echo Richard W in that the orange looks better in the flesh!

I love the retro styling and super-comfy fit of this jersey. Looks and feels great on the bike – on short, fast rides as well as endurance. The orange looks even better in the flesh.

Well made jersey which fits well, I used sizing guide to order. On first use I rode a 200km event and at the end the jersey remained comfortable and dry, even on a hot day. Would recommend.

I have purchased a number of cycling garments from Shutt Velo recently and every one has been if excellent quality and delivered very quickly. The 1978 jersey was no exception. The actual jersey matched its web site description accurately and is if a very high quality in terms of its construction, materials used and general design features. The elasticated hem and sleeves hold the jersey in place in the riding position without being constructive. The three pockets have been 'tested' with one smart phone, three gels and a spare light weight tube and do not safe, and there is a little space to spare. I like the compact reflective strip below the middle pocket. I gave one comment about size. I am 75 in June, 170cm tall and 58kg, thus not a large man by any stretch of the imagination. At 75, I do not fancy skin suits, thus prefer a more relaxed fit to my jerseys. I ordered a medium originally when my usual size for jerseys tends more towards size small. Medium was like a skin suit, so had to return and exchange for a size large. Shutts return service us brilliant and I now have a jersey that is on the right side of snug and relaxed. Thank you Mr. Shutt. Incidentally, this jersey will complement my 1976 Bob Jackson perfectly. A stylish garment, stands out in the crowd and wears well

I love this Jersey. I like the fact it is a mixture of merino and polyester which I prefer to wear. Be warned the sizing is a little strange. I normally wear Medium but had to go 2 sizes up to XL. Make sure you look at the size guide before purchase as this is correct. Fit is perfect.
