I have just had a day, the first in nearly 4 months, when I did not wear my Active Softshell for driving the wife to work. Since I got it as a Christmas present it has been the jacket of choice for off-bike activities and casual on-bike wear. I was a little concerned when I first put it on; it's an XL and seemed too big but I have grown used to the additional space over time. It is surprisingly wind and water proof for the price, having suffered failures in both areas in more expensive jackets and the velcro cuff closures are a welcome design feature. Took a while to find the 'hidden' hem drawstring but it cleans up the lines and you don't have toggles and draw cord flapping in the breeze. The softshell has seen me through the worst of the winter weather being used for daily walks and short cycle rides when possible. It finally had it's first wash the other day after nearly 4 months of continuous use and now looks like new again. Excellent value for money in a well designed product. Ideally spring and autumn wear but not afraid of winter.

I've had my jacket about 5 weeks now and wear all the time making my North Face redundant and heading for eBay! I haven't actually cycled in as I never bought it for that but needless to say I am very impressed by it. From the pics on the website, I thought it was black but it's a dark blue and I prefer it to black. The fit and finish is excellent. The collar height is quite high which you'll either like or find it annoying. I like it as it realy keeps out the drafts. The material is great and keeps out the wind and repells rain easily. I have to agree with Shane Rae, the back length is not really cycle length, but as I didn't buy it for that it's ideal. I already own one of the Shutt long sleeve jerseys and will purchasing another soon as I'm very impressed with Shutt products and customer service. Well done guys.

I too thought this black, but was slightly disappointed to find it was blue (black goes with anything!), but the cut is great, and I've used it on all but the coldest winter days. Worked well in a heavy shower too. Lovely!

I recently took possession of one of these and have been very impressed by it. Looking at the pics here on the website, I thought the colour was black but in reality it is more a dark blue (possibly called 'carbon' inn the trade). This makes it more attractive as a jacket to wear on and off of the bike (I've already worn mine to work a couple times). The fit is excellent, with Shutt's typically good tailoring. I particularly like the collar height, which is so often a deal-breaker for this type of garment. The material is stiff enough to brace against the elements but supple enough to move with you. The inner is very comfy indeed. The back length is not really cycle length which again allows for use on or off the bike. This jacket is the perfect weight for Sping/Autumn wear.
