Cycle Show Highlights -1st October ’12
by Lauren
Even though we were not exhibiting at the Cycle Show this year we couldn’t resist a visit - we’ll take any excuse to look at bikes! On Saturday the show was heaving and had attracted a broad range of visitors. There really was something for everyone with Road, MTB, BMX, Electric and Children’s Bikes all on display. The true road cyclists were giving themselves away, as they seemed not to be able to resist lifting up any bike they could, to feel the weight!
Here we have gathered together a selection of what we feel were the highlights of this years show. If you would like to see all our photos from the show click here to visit our Flickr photostream.
Enjoy!

A very impressive and usual bike at the show was Bart Van Heesch's signature Copper plated bike. Heesch says "I used the archetypal Dutch bike. This model hasn’t changed for 100 years and for me its still the best city bike in Holland. It’s sturdy design means that nothing will be broken and if it is then it’s easy to repair. All the parts are fully copper plated which means the bike becomes more beautiful as the years pass." The price of £3599 was as eye-watering as the shininess of the bike itself!

The Specialized Shiv - Its a love it or hate it design and is Triathlon specific. Specialized have torn up the rule book for this one as the new Shiv breaches current UCI regulations in at least eight ways!
